As the leading number plate blanking manufacturer, we are proud to boast an experienced national team with over 250 years collective experience.  Our team includes technical experts in the areas of metallurgy, toolmaking, plastic polymerisation, design, engineering and QC .  We believe in outbound field sales personnel, who not only provide a door to door delivery service to all nine provinces, but are technically skilled to install, set-up, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance to ensure that our field equipment performs optimally at all times. We are BEE-compliant, the highest in the blanking industry.

Our Footprint

By the grace of God,  Unique Number Plate (“Unique”) has become the LEADING  number plate supplier in South Africa and Southern African region.  This is by market share, unit volume and representation.

The company is a local manufacturer and supplier of number plate blanks, number plate equipment, number plate holders and allied products. 

In addition to supplying customers across the 9 provinces in South Africa, the company exports to neighbouring countries in Africa, such as Eswatini, Lesotho, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi and Namibia.

Unique has positioned itself to be at the forefront of the latest trends and technologies in the industry – meeting customers’ needs and requirements. We are customer and service led.

Unique is a full member of the Technical working group of the SABS (TC 1070 SC), as well as a member of the national Technical working group for the development of a new national number plate, as led by the CSIR.

Our People

Our people are our human capital. We employ a diverse team of experts, who bring a wealth of number plate knowledge,. The ownership and senior management have over two centuries of combined experience in the Number Plate industry. An integrated and close-knit team driven by passion and experience with a vision to add tangible value within the number plate industry.

Our Presence

Unique has a national presence.  Manufacturing is centralised in Gauteng, with branch warehouses in the Western Cape, Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Eastern Cape.  A full range of provincial number plates, related consumables, as well as equipment and spare parts are stocked at all three regions.  Sales and technical teams are based regionally for ease of access to customers.
